San Antonio Bowie Bowie with Damascus steel blade
The blade for this Bowie is made from 220 layers of 1080 high carbon tool steel, 15N20 and pure nickel. The blade length is 260mm and is 5mm thick on the spine. The spine is decorated with fancy file work and the heel of the blade sports a Spanish notch. The overall length of the knife is 415mm including the finial nut. The handle contains three coined nickel silver spacers. The forward curving double branch handguard, butt cap and finial nut have been acid etched and stone washed and the butt cap has been filed to match the flutes in the antler. The bolster is made from four pieces of wrought iron forge welded together with three layers of pure nickel. The handle is a piece of Sambar stag which has been dyed walnut brown. The hand stitched leather sheath is a double welted style dyed mahogany brown with a black leather frame surrounding a python skin inlay. There is one brass Sam Brown stud which supports the black leather frog.
